The Magic Behind Basic H

We have been using the Basic H product from Shaklee now for a few months.  Replacing regular cleaners for this healthy alternative. Aside from it being the most versatile cleaning product I have ever used, and being safe enough to drink, this product is 100 natural and completely biodegradable.

This sent me on a search to see what it is made of, and I came across a forum that was asking the same question as me.  What they had come up with was this:
The materials listed are:Deionized WaterPareth 25-7 (Surfactant)Linear Alcohol Alkoxylate (Surf.)Dowicil 75 (Antioxidant)Hydrochloric Acid (pH Adjuster)Butylated Hydroxytoluene (Antiox.)D & C Green #5 (Colour)Methyl Paraben (Colour Preserv.)
This seems to be in line with a "List of NOs" site on the official Shaklee site:

  • NO Parabens
  • NO Triclosan
  • NO Phthalates
  • NO Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
  • NO Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES)
  • NO 1,4-Dioxane
  • NO Propylene Glycol
  • NO Volatile Organic Cleaning Compounds (VOCs)
  • NO Hydrochloric Acid
  • NO Ammonia
  • NO Sodium Hydroxide
  • NO Butyl Cellosolve
  • NO Formaldehyde
  • NO Bisphenol-A
  • NO Petroleum Distillates
  • NO Toluene
  • NO Chlorine Bleach
  • NO MSG
  • NO Dyes
  • NO Trans Fats
  • NO Artificial Sweeteners
  • NO Toxic Inks
  • NO Banned Substances
Also, according to the Get Clean Fact Sheet one of the primary ingredients is Coconut Oil.  So (Aside from being really technical)  the information I found helped in my understanding of the product, and made me feel a lot better about using it on everything!
